As a forerunner in the energy transition, it is of course important that we look at our CO₂ footprint. In addition, we like to think along with you.

Yes, websites also have a carbon footprint...

The internet consumes a lot of electricity. 416.2 TWh per year to be exact. That is more than the whole of the United Kingdom per year in total.

Do you have a website? Check your carbon footprint on websitecarbon.com

  • Dark mode

Displaying the website in dark mode saves considerable energy compared to a white background. As a visitor, you have a direct influence on the footprint of topsectorenergie.nl in terms of display in this choice.

In addition, you can also save a lot of energy by setting (OLED) screens to dark mode.

  • 23 november 2023: HT Open bodemenergie (HT-OBES)
    Sprekers (ovb):
Wim van Helden - TASK 39, IEA-programme Energy Storage
Nico Franco Pinto - IF Technology
  • 30 november 2023: HT Gesloten bodemenergie (HT-GBES)
    Sprekers (ovb):
    Adib Kalantar - MuoviTech
    Julian Vormhals - Vattenfall
  • 7 december 2023: HT Pit-opslag (HT-PTES)
    Sprekers (ovb):
Jonas Ilim Sorensen - Aalborg CSP
    Morten Vang Bobach - Bobsol
  • 14 december 2023: Tank-opslag (TTES)
    Sprekers (ovb):

What types of collective heat storage are there? How do these techniques work? How do you integrate these techniques into a heat and cold network? What are the challenges of these systems? What are the critical success factors? What are the legal aspects involved? And what can we learn from existing systems abroad?

During four short webinars, international experts from the IEA Energy Storage programme will give their answers to these questions, especially for the Dutch audience. The first webinar will take place on 23 November, and one every week thereafter. All speakers are involved in the development of various large-scale heat storage technologies and the integration of these technologies in collective heating and cooling systems in the Netherlands and abroad.

Please note that all the presentations are in English.

The webinars are organised by IF Technology in collaboration with RVO and TKI Urban Energy, and will take place on Thursdays between 15:00 and 16:00 on:

  • 23 November 2023: High temperature aquifer thermal energy storage (HT-ATES)
    Speakers (tbc):
Wim van Helden - TASK 39- IEA-programme Energy Storage
Nico Franco Pinto - IF Technology
  • 30 November 2023: High temperature borehole thermal energy storage (HT-BTES)
    Speakers (tbc):
    Adib Kalantar - MuoviTech
    Julian Vormhals - Vattenfall
  • 7 December 2023: High temperature pit thermal energy storage (HT-PTES)
    Speakers (tbc):
Jonas Ilim Sorensen - Aalborg CSP
    Morten Vang Bobach - Bobsol
  • 14 december 2023: Tank thermal energy storage (TTES)
    Speakers (tbc):
