System integration

The Netherlands is in the middle of the transition from fossil to sustainable energy. This transition will lead to a reliable, affordable and sustainable energy system. To realize this new energy a system an integrated flexible energy system is essential and this requires changes on a system level.

System integration is the process of integration between links and actors in the energy value chain, between various energy carriers and between actors in the value chain and adjacent sectors in the system. In this way bottlenecks are solved, through which opportunities for new products and services arise.

Within System integration all Top consortia for Knowledge and Innovation (TKI’s) focus on a better integration of various developments in the energy system and with adjacent sectors. To achieve this goal the TKI’s employ their expertise, stakeholder networks and regional connections. The sights are ever set on the period after the National Energy Agreement.
