Subsidy Schemes for Offshore Wind

The Government uses subsidies to stimulate the activities that take place through the TKI Wind op Zee programme . There are subsidies for various types of activities and for various types of applicants.

Name Scheme Description
Offshore Wind R&D projects (Wind op Zee R&D projecten) For projects focusing on research and development, with the goal to reduce the long-term cost of offshore wind energy. For projects that are possible without demonstration.
Renewable Energy Scheme (Hernieuwbare Energie regeling) Projects that aim to achieve offshore wind energy cost reductions according to the terms of the Energy Agreement (2030) are supported by the Hernieuwbare Energie regeling.
System Integration in the North Sea (Systeemintegratie op de Noordzee) Scheme, along with TKI Gas, aimed at creating added value through cooperation between offshore wind farms and gas (and oil) activities in the North Sea.

Demonstration Projects Energy Innovation (DEI-regeling demonstratieprojecten)

Topsector Energy scheme for projects in which innovative technologies are used that conserve energy or generate renewable energy. Financing for demonstrations (investment projects) of products, processes and/or services is available through the DEI scheme.
MIT-Scheme Advisory projects, feasibility projects, R&D cooperation projects, knowledge vouchers, TKI-Innovation brokers and network activities for SMEs.
Subsidy Socially-Responsible Innovative Energy (Subsidie Maatschappelijk Verantwoord Innoveren Energie) Scheme, along with TKI Gas, aimed at creating added value through cooperation between offshore wind farms and gas (and oil) activities in the North Sea.
Innovation Brokers (Innovatiemakelaars) Do you, as a starting- or SME entrepreneur, need support of an ‘innovation broker’?
Power System Integration & Big Data (Energiesysteemintegratie & big data) For scientists and public/private parties who apply for funding together, for innovative research in the field of energy system integration and big data.
Subsidy for System Integration Studies (Subsidie voor Systeemintegratiestudies) This stimulates feasibility studies of large-scale storage and conversion of renewable electricity. It applies to studies at stages prior to an R&D project or an investment project.

European subsidy

Horizon 2020 is the European Commission programme to stimulate European research and innovation. Horizon 2020 has been running since 1 January 2014 and is the successor of the Zevende Kaderprogramma (seventh framework programme )(FP7) (Dutch). Horizon 2020 has a total budget of about 80 billion euros for the period 2014-2020. In the period from 2018-2020 37 million has been made available for all sectors of Europe.
