As a forerunner in the energy transition, it is of course important that we look at our COâ‚‚ footprint. In addition, we like to think along with you.

Yes, websites also have a carbon footprint...

The internet consumes a lot of electricity. 416.2 TWh per year to be exact. That is more than the whole of the United Kingdom per year in total.

Do you have a website? Check your carbon footprint on websitecarbon.com

  • Dark mode

Displaying the website in dark mode saves considerable energy compared to a white background. As a visitor, you have a direct influence on the footprint of topsectorenergie.nl in terms of display in this choice.

In addition, you can also save a lot of energy by setting (OLED) screens to dark mode.

Quartermaster Hans Timmers of ECHT and former chairman of industry association NWEA has surveyed the entirety of the offshore wind sector about to what extent digital resilience cooperation already exists, what needs and preconditions exist for this. With a clear playing field analysis and recommendations, Hans and his team have provided a good start to further strengthen cybersecurity in the industry. The main conclusions are to link up as much as possible with existing networks and initiatives and layer knowledge sharing and development and threat sharing. The executive summary of the report can be found here.

Work session key players

At the same time, in cooperation with Fabrique, we worked on ways to raise awareness around chain responsibility on this topic. From this, a programme and concrete tools emerged. TKI Offshore Energy and Digitalisation Programme will soon present these to key players in the sector. This will be done during a work session where the players in the field themselves can take the wheel to strengthen cybersecurity. For this session, the focus will be on the people who have to interact within the chain in times of crisis.

TKI Offshore Energy and Digitisation Programme ensure that the innovation and knowledge questions that arise from this are answered in the right places.

If you would like more information on this topic, please contact Arjan Hofmann of TKI Offshore Energy or Soe van Dijk of the Programme Digitalisation.
